Evaluating these opponents, Coach Hua Hien Vinh said: "The group of U19 Vietnam is strong. U19 Australia won this tournament in 2020, they are a strong team. Meanwhile, U19 Laos is an unknown, 2 years ago, they won the runner-up position. Overall, the group is very competitive and U19 Vietnam will have to make a lot of effort". "U19 Vietnam has 3 quality friendly matches in China and 2 practice matches before leaving. Up to this point, the players are ready for the Southeast Asian tournament. Of course, the team still has problems to overcome, but overall U19 Vietnam has completed the preparation stage", Coach Hua Hien Vinh added.

This year's U19 Southeast Asian Championship is a tournament that uses video assistant referee (VAR) technology. Therefore, U19 Vietnam will have to get used to playing under the supervision of this technology. The immediate task of the U19 Vietnam players is to get used to the weather and ensure their physical strength to compete in the coming days. According to the group stage schedule, U19 Vietnam will meet U19 Myanmar at 7:30 p.m. on July 18, U19 Australia at 3:00 p.m. on July 21, and U19 Laos at 3:00 p.m. on July 24.
