RT reported that on October 20 (local time), the Russian Ministry of Defense released a video showing its forces destroying armored fighting vehicles (AFVs) provided by the West to Ukraine with just one precise drone attack.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that servicemen from the Russian Northern Group of Forces spotted a US-made Stryker AFV moving through dense forest terrain, then destroyed the vehicle with a direct hit.

"The drone hit and destroyed a Stryker armored vehicle," the Russian Defense Ministry said, adding that the attack had been confirmed.

The black-and-white video released by the ministry, which appears to have been shot by a surveillance drone, shows the AFV travelling at high speed down a road when the kamikaze UAV hits it from the front. The vehicle explodes in a hail of sparks and shrapnel from its armor in all directions. The fate of the crew is unknown.

The Stryker is an eight-wheeled armored fighting vehicle that is a cross between a tank and an armored personnel carrier.

The Stryker, which has many different variants and was developed by General Dynamics Land Systems for the US military, has been in use since 2002 and has seen combat in Iraq.

In addition to the Stryker, the US is said to have provided Ukraine with Bradley tracked armored vehicles equipped with automatic cannons, machine guns and TOW missiles. The Stryker is not as effective as the Bradley in fighting tanks, but is good at protecting infantry.

The Stryker wheeled armored vehicle can operate in snow, mud and sand, moves more smoothly than the Bradley, and can carry more soldiers (nine compared to six for the standard M2 Bradley).
