The 6th Cham Cultural Festival in Ninh Thuan province in 2024 has the theme "Preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the Cham ethnic group in the period of national integration and development" with the participation of 9 provinces and cities (Ninh Thuan, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Binh Thuan, An Giang , Tay Ninh, Quang Nam, Da Nang City and Ho Chi Minh City). The opening ceremony of the Festival will start at 8:00 p.m. on September 27 at April 16 Square (Phan Rang - Thap Cham City), broadcast live on VTV8 and the closing ceremony will be at 8:00 p.m. on September 29, broadcast live on NTV channel.
Comrade Nguyen Long Bien, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting.
Following the plan of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Provincial People's Committee has issued a plan to assign the organization of the Festival; accordingly, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is assigned to send documents to participating provinces and cities as well as relevant agencies and units to introduce personnel to participate in the Organizing Committee, referees and service staff at the Festival; announce the introduction of accommodation facilities in the province serving the Festival, as well as provide information on display booths, introducing special products, craft village products, OCOP products to districts and cities in the province. Continue to implement the procedures for selecting the organizing unit to implement the script for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Festival; install the stage, arrange space, install booths to organize activities; prepare well the venue and gymnasium to organize competitions in 6 sports: Tug of war, stick pushing, men's mini football, men's volleyball, women's water team, men's and women's cross-country. At the same time, coordinate with localities to review cultural and sports activities to select athletes and Cham artists to practice sports and arts, establish delegations to participate in planned activities; actively carry out visual propaganda about the Festival as well as prepare well related contents on security, order, environmental sanitation, food safety, accommodation, etc.
Concluding the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: The Cham Ethnic Cultural Festival is an important event, requiring relevant departments, branches, localities and units to coordinate synchronously and effectively, prepare the best conditions to welcome delegates, participating delegations and domestic and foreign tourists to participate in the Festival; proactively prepare contingency plans for weather, accommodation, cuisine, etc.; at the same time, promote socialization to ensure funding for organizing the Festival.
