There are two types of alcohol breathalyzers: The first type blows a stream of air from a distance, and if there is alcohol present, an alarm will sound. The second type is a direct blower, which is disposable and can be thrown away on the spot after use.
When using either method, your breath will still have a low alcohol concentration if you use beers labeled as 0 degrees. In case of participating in traffic, you are required to stop and blow the alcohol concentration with a specialized measuring device, the result may be positive.
Not to mention, many beers advertised as 0 degrees still contain 0.5% alcohol. Meanwhile, in Vietnam, drivers of cars, motorbikes, and motorcyclists are not allowed to have alcohol in their blood.
In addition, when drinking 0-degree beer, your body still needs time to eliminate all alcohol concentration in the blood. Therefore, to be safe, you should not drink alcohol while driving.
The World Health Organization (WHO) defines an alcohol unit as follows: One alcohol unit is equivalent to 10 grams of pure ethanol, equal to 200 ml of beer; 75 ml of wine (1 glass); 25 ml of spirits (1 cup). Depending on the amount of alcohol consumed, it will be converted to approximately how many units of alcohol.
An average healthy adult's liver will excrete one unit of alcohol every hour. Depending on the physical condition, this time period may increase or decrease. About 10-15% of alcohol will be excreted through the respiratory tract, skin, and sweat; about 85-90% will be processed through the liver.
