V-League says goodbye to 5 referees

5 overage referees will not continue to work from V-League 2025 - 2026.

On the afternoon of August 2, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 National Professional Tournaments Referee Supervisor and Referee Training Course took place.

Here, VFF and the VFF Referee Board awarded medals for the development of Vietnamese football referees to 5 referees and assistant referees who are 45 years old or older.

These five players include Ngo Quoc Toan, Hoang Thanh Binh, Truong Duc Chien, Nguyen Manh Hai and Tran Van Hai. They will no longer be assigned to duties from the 2025-2026 season and will be arranged in suitable positions.

On behalf of 5 referees and assistant referees receiving the medal, assistant referee Truong Duc Chien said that during his time as a referee, he received the attention and sharing of colleagues and leaders, from which each person matured both professionally and personally.

The V-League 2025-2026 referee and supervisor training course will take place from August 2 to August 7. Compared to previous seasons, the training in the 2025-2026 season will have a clear difference when changing from centralized training by geographical area to training by tournament level.

This training course is led by Vietnamese instructors, including Head of the Arbitration Board Dang Thanh Ha, instructor Vo Minh Tri and instructor Ngo Quoc Hung.

Accordingly, 33 referees and 34 assistant referees with VAR operation certificates and licensed to officiate matches in the V-League will be trained in Hanoi .

After this training course, VFF, VFF Referee Board and VPF will organize a training course for referee supervisors and First Division referees at the end of August in Ho Chi Minh City.
