The 9 millionth tourist to Khanh Hoa was Ms. An Jin Yeong, from Korea on a Vietnam Airlines flight from Incheon (Korea) to Cam Ranh (Khanh Hoa).
At the ceremony, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of the Department of Tourism and relevant agencies and units of Khanh Hoa province welcomed and presented gifts to Ms. An Jin Yeong.
At the same time, provincial leaders and businesses presented gifts to two consecutive guests before and after the 9 millionth guest to Khanh Hoa in 2024.
Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Huu Hoang said that the ceremony to welcome the 9 millionth visitor to Khanh Hoa in 2024 is a memorable milestone for Khanh Hoa's tourism industry.
In addition to today's welcoming ceremony, the province has assigned the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association to organize the program to announce Khanh Hoa tourism reaching 9 million visitors and launch a tourism stimulus program with the theme "Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa tourism, come to love" at April 2 Square, Nha Trang City (scheduled to be held on October 13).
Leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of the Department of Tourism and departments, branches and businesses of Khanh Hoa presented gifts to congratulate the guests.
"In the coming time, Khanh Hoa tourism industry will continue to invest in infrastructure, improve the quality of tourism services; promote advertising and promotion, coordinate with airlines to open more domestic and international routes to Khanh Hoa.
Thereby, attracting more tourists to the province to develop tourism sustainably; contributing to completing the goal of Resolution No. 9, turning Khanh Hoa into a centrally-run city," said Mr. Hoang.
It is known that in 2024, Khanh Hoa tourism industry aims to welcome 9 million overnight visitors, including 3 million international visitors; revenue of 40,100 billion VND. The high number of tourists has helped Khanh Hoa tourism industry reach the target 3 months ahead of schedule.
According to a report by the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, it is estimated that by the end of September, the whole province welcomed 9 million overnight guests, an increase of nearly 58% over the same period in 2023.
Of which, there were 3.6 million international visitors, an increase of nearly 150% over the same period. Total tourism revenue is estimated at more than 44,000 billion VND, an increase of nearly 62% over the same period (exceeding 10% of the 2024 plan).
