Vietnam wins runner-up at world's largest robot tournament

Information from Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted on April 20 said that the school's GreenAms Robotics Team 24751 team participating in The FIRST Tech Challenge World Championship 2025 in Houston, USA, won the world runner-up position.

The FIRST Tech Challenge World Championship is the world's largest annual robotics competition, attracting nearly 1 million participants each year. The 2025 finals in the United States will feature 1,100 teams from more than 50 countries, bringing together more than 50,000 participants.

The Vietnamese team participated in the tournament for the first time with confidence and high determination.

Although it was their first time participating in the tournament, all 15 members of the team from Vietnam were very confident and ready to conquer the tournament. With a resilient fighting spirit and a sharp competition strategy, GreenAms Robotics Team 24751 and two excellent alliance teams overcame a series of opponents to win the Edison Group Championship. Entering the knockout round of the tournament, the Edison Alliance continued to compete impressively, passing the play-off round to enter the final match. With stable performance, smooth coordination and confidence on the field, the alliance won the Finalist Alliance title, officially becoming the World Runner-up in 2025.

Expressing her joy at the school's students' excellent achievements, teacher Tran Thuy Duong, Principal of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, said: The achievement of GreenAms Robotics Team 24751 is not only a resounding victory but also a historical milestone for STEM education in Vietnam. After nearly a decade of construction and development, GreenAms Robotics has realized the dream of bringing Vietnamese intelligence to the world.

Runner-up in the world's largest robot competition is a proud achievement for Vietnamese students.

Winning the runner-up position at the world’s largest robotics competition in the first time participating is a very proud achievement, affirming that Vietnamese students have great potential in science , technology and STEM. Not only having strengths in traditional Olympic competitions, Vietnamese students are gradually catching up with the world in approaching modern science and technology.
