Vietnam-Singapore launch first B2B e-commerce trading platform

Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Tran Phuoc Anh speaks.

On August 1, at the headquarters of the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF), the Vietnam-Singapore Sustainable Trade and Innovation Forum took place, marking a new step forward in digital economic cooperation and green transformation between the two countries.

The event was jointly organized by the Vietnam Trade Office in Singapore, HUBA, SMF, Arobid and Ecohub.

The highlight of this trade promotion activity is the launch of the first bilateral B2B e-commerce trading platform between Vietnam and Singapore.

The Vietnamsgp.arobid.com platform, developed by Arobid and Ecohud, integrates artificial intelligence (AI) technology, big data, 3D online exhibitions and market behavior analysis, helping businesses of the two countries find partners, sign contracts and display products in digital space.

After sharing about Vietnam's breakthrough development vision with the "Quad Pillars" including 4 important resolutions of Vietnam, Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Tran Phuoc Anh emphasized that in today's global economy, regional trade connectivity is no longer an option but essential.

With the newly launched platform, businesses on both sides can simplify cross-border transactions, procurement and leverage smart data, driving trade that is not only faster and smarter, but also greener and fairer.

The Ambassador affirmed that the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore is committed to supporting these efforts, connecting not only governments but also businesses, innovators and investors.

Speaking at the forum, Mr. Lennon Tan - Chairman of SMF - affirmed that the reality shows that the economies of Vietnam and Singapore are natural and positive complements to each other.

The launch of the Vietnam-Singapore B2B e-commerce platform brings many advantages such as free transactions and labor search; multi-currency payment; smart connection; integrated logistics and dispute prevention.

He stressed that the ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement, which is expected to be concluded by 2025, will ensure the continuity of data flows, payment systems and electronic services. The Vietnam-Singapore B2B platform was formed in line with that vision.

At the seminars, delegates shared about the prospects for Vietnam-Singapore trade cooperation in the context of many uncertainties in the world and region, green transformation, digitalization...

Mr. Cao Xuan Thang - Vietnam's Trade Counselor in Singapore - especially noted that when trading with Singaporean businesses, Vietnamese businesses need to pay attention to factors such as culture and regulations of the host country, understand their partners well and should be carefully advised when making a big deal.

Mr Lennon Tan emphasised the role of the Government in supporting companies to go green, assessing and certifying green manufacturing, which would serve as a basis for companies to gradually upgrade their green certification levels. The Government could also encourage businesses to go green by giving special consideration to the Government’s tendering process.

Assessing the announcement of the first B2B e-commerce platform between Vietnam and Singapore as a strategic step, Ambassador Tran Phuoc Anh expressed 3 expectations.

Firstly, the Ambassador hopes that this effort will help achieve the trade turnover target between Vietnam and Singapore of 30 billion USD before 2028.

Second, the penetration of Vietnamese products into the Singapore market and from Singapore to the world will be deeper and more convenient.

Third is to raise the international level of Vietnamese enterprises, exporters and of Vietnamese trade with the world.

Ms. Phung Thi Ai Van - founder of Ecohub.arobid.com - said that choosing Singapore to launch a bilateral B2B e-commerce trading floor is because Singapore is a very strong "green center" in the region and from here can expand its reach to the global market.

With the launch of this new trading platform, Singaporean businesses will have the opportunity to access Vietnamese businesses more easily, not only in trading goods, but also in another scope, which is to support green businesses to connect with the green transformation and access green transformation services from Singaporean businesses.

Within the framework of the event, Arobid Technology Joint Stock Company signed a Memorandum of Understanding with High West Fund to implement a financial package to support Vietnamese enterprises to export smartly to the US market. This support package is implemented by the AGCG Investment Fund Alliance and High West.

The company has also signed a cooperation agreement with CRIF D&B Vietnam Group to support businesses in the green transformation process and achieve ESG (Environmental, Social & Corporate Governance) certification according to global standards.
