Vietnam Airlines sells in-flight Internet service: 10 USD for 1 hour of web access

(Dan Tri) - Vietnam Airlines said it has begun testing Internet connection services on planes. International passengers of the airline can purchase Internet access service packages for 5-20 USD.

Vietnam Airlines said it has begun testing in-flight Internet connection services since August 5.

On international routes, the airline will introduce three data packages for passengers to choose from depending on their needs. These include a texting package for $5, two web browsing packages for $10/hour, and $20 for unlimited data for the entire flight.

For domestic flights, the payment system is in the process of being completed. Vietnam Airlines said it will deploy service sales as soon as this system is standardized in the Vietnamese market.

From now until the end of December, Vietnam Airlines will deploy this service on Airbus A350 aircraft that have been installed with satellite Internet connection systems. In the coming time, the airline will continue to expand Internet service provision on other aircraft types.
