This is the first and only route to date that brings passengers direct flights between the two countries, marking a strategic step in the airline's efforts to expand its international flight network, while opening up new air connections between Southeast Asia and Northern Europe.

The Ho Chi Minh City - Copenhagen route will be operated with a frequency of 3 flights per week using the modern wide-body Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. Flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Copenhagen are expected to depart at 22:45 every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and the return flight from Copenhagen to Ho Chi Minh City departs at 10:50 every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday.

With flexible flight schedules and convenient connectivity, Vietnam Airlines expects the new route to effectively serve the needs of travel, tourism , visiting relatives and trade between the two regions, especially the community of more than 70,000 Vietnamese people living in the Nordic countries.

According to Vietnam Airlines Deputy General Director Dang Anh Tuan, the Ho Chi Minh City - Copenhagen route continues to mark the airline's efforts in its strategy to expand its flight network in Europe, especially the potential Northern European market.

Copenhagen is the largest air gateway in Northern Europe. It is also the main hub for Scandinavian Airlines - a member of the SkyTeam alliance with Vietnam Airlines. This makes it easy for passengers to connect to neighboring countries such as Sweden, Norway and Finland through a synchronized transfer system.

In 2025, Vietnam Airlines plans to open and restore 15 new international routes to many key markets such as Italy, Russia, China, UAE, Japan, South Korea, India...

Currently, in Europe, Vietnam Airlines has direct flights to the UK, France, Germany, and Russia. From the beginning of July, the national airline will operate an additional route from Hanoi to Milan (Italy).
