On the afternoon of July 31, at Thien Cam commune, the Ha Tinh Department of Home Affairs organized an announcement of the decision and awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 3 citizens who bravely rescued people in an emergency situation at sea.
This decision was signed by Mr. Vo Trong Hai, Chairman of Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee on July 28, honoring three citizens including Le Van Linh, Hoang Tien Mung and Nguyen Van Khiem, all residing in Thien Cam commune, who saved many people in the sinking of a tourist boat at sea.

The awarding of Certificates of Merit aims to encourage citizens, contribute to spreading the spirit of good people - good deeds, arouse a sense of responsibility, courage and spirit for the community.
Previously, at around 8:00 p.m. on July 19, the coastal area of Thien Cam, Thien Cam commune, experienced a large thunderstorm with heavy rain and strong gusts of wind.
During the storm, the tourist boat operated by Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoang, residing in Thien Cam commune (ship owner) sank in the area of Boc island, 0.5 nautical miles from Thien Cam sea. At the time of the sinking, there were 4 crew members and 30 tourists on board.
Immediately upon receiving the news from Thien Cam Border Guard Station, the three citizens immediately coordinated with officers and soldiers to approach the area of the ship in distress.
After nearly 2 hours of struggling with big waves and strong winds at night, at around 00:30 on July 20, this group of fishermen rescued all 34 people on board and brought them safely to shore.
