According to Hue Central Hospital, branch 2, on the morning of July 21, the unit received another case of suspected food poisoning after attending a grave opening ceremony in Phong Dinh ward, Hue city, bringing the total number of hospitalizations to 21 people.
The latest patient is Mr. HVH (54 years old, residing in Ho Chi Minh City), admitted to the hospital at 6:30 a.m. the same day, with a diagnosis of acute gastroenteritis, suspected to be caused by food poisoning.

Of the 21 patients mentioned above, the most serious case is Ms. NTL (84 years old, residing in Phong Dinh ward) who has septic shock, moderate vasomotor symptoms, and is being monitored at the Emergency Resuscitation Department. The health of the remaining 20 people is basically stable.
As Dan Tri reported, on July 20, Hue Central Hospital, branch 2, received and treated 10 cases of suspected food poisoning after attending a funeral ceremony in Phong Dinh ward, Hue city.
By the evening of the same day, 10 more cases were hospitalized with symptoms such as fever, abdominal cramps, loose stools, and vomiting.
Mr. Tran Kiem Hao, Director of Hue City Department of Health, said that the specialized agency has taken food samples and sent them to Pasteur Institute Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa province) for testing to find the cause of food poisoning.
According to the Hue City Department of Health, at noon on July 19, the above suspected cases of food poisoning, along with 29 other people, ate at a grave-opening party at Ms. LTT's family (Phong Dinh ward).

On the evening of July 19, Ms. T's family ate leftover seafood salad and grouper hotpot from the party.
At 1:00 a.m. on July 20, 5 people in Ms. T's family showed symptoms of continuous abdominal pain, frequent loose stools, and vomiting, and were taken to the emergency room at Hue Central Hospital, branch 2. After that, the number of cases continued to increase.

Hue City Department of Health has directed Phong Dien Medical Center to coordinate with Phong Dinh Ward People's Committee to monitor, investigate and handle the case according to regulations.
Authorities have asked the LTX business to temporarily suspend operations until the investigation results are available. The business must preserve the remaining food ingredients used to prepare the feast and cooperate with authorities during the investigation.
