Naval Region 4 organized many activities to commemorate the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the event on March 14, 1988.

March 14th marked the 36th anniversary of the Gac Ma incident, where 64 officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Navy heroically sacrificed their lives to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland. A delegation from the Naval Region 4 Command came to offer incense and flowers to commemorate the 64 heroic martyrs at the Gac Ma Soldiers Memorial (Cam Hai Dong Commune, Cam Lam District, Khanh Hoa Province).

36 years ago, on March 14, 1988, in the battle to protect the sovereignty of the Truong Sa archipelago by officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Navy. You have shown your infinite loyalty to the Party, the Fatherland, and the people. Your fighting spirit is a bright spot in the history of the nation that today's and future generations must remember.

The working delegation of the Naval Region 4 Command came to offer incense and flowers to commemorate 64 heroic martyrs at the Gac Ma Soldiers Memorial Area.

At the memorial site of Gac Ma soldiers, the delegation burned incense and offered flowers to commemorate the heroic martyrs, the examples of brave sacrifices to protect the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland. In Cam Ranh City and on the islands of Truong Sa archipelago, units of Naval Region 4 had many meaningful activities such as educating traditions, offering incense and flowers to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Cam Ranh City Martyrs Cemetery, on Sinh Ton, Co Lin, Len Dao islands...

This is a meaningful activity not only to express gratitude for the heroic sacrifice of 64 officers and soldiers but also an opportunity to educate the nation's tradition and history, love for the homeland, respect and gratitude for previous generations, for the heroic martyrs who heroically sacrificed to protect the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Fatherland. Thereby building the will, belief and spirit for officers and soldiers to always uphold the spirit of combat readiness, determination to excellently complete all tasks, firmly protect the sovereignty of the sea, islands and sacred continental shelf of the Fatherland.
