Surpassing 6 countries, Vietnam wins the World's Leading Heritage Destination 2023 award

World Travel Awards reported on December 2 that Vietnam's 5 "World's Leading Heritage Destinations 2023" include: Hanoi, Moc Chau (Son La), Tam Dao (Vinh Phuc), Ha Nam, Phu Quoc ( Kien Giang ). These localities also won awards in important categories at the World Travel Awards.

Hanoi has won the " World 's Leading Short Break Destination" award for the third consecutive year. The Vietnamese capital beat strong contenders such as Athens, Dubai, Las Vegas, New York, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo.

Tam Dao received the award "World's Leading Tourist Town" for the second time. Moc Chau received the award "World's Leading Local Natural Destination".

Ha Nam Province received the "Top Local Cultural Destination" award for the first time, while Phu Quoc was honored as "World's Leading Nature Island 2023".

Several tourism businesses in Vietnam were also honored at the World Travel Awards 2023 final ceremony. Specifically, Vietravel received the "World's Leading Tour Operator" award for the 7th consecutive time, and The Empyrean Cam Ranh Beach Resort in Khanh Hoa received the "World's Leading Leisure Resort" award.

Sun World Fansipan Legend Lao Cai tourist area received 2 awards "World's leading cultural tourist area and tourist area with natural landscape".

According to the World Travel Awards, Vietnam was also honored in the category of "World's Leading Heritage Destination" in 2022, 2020 and 2019. In 2021, the country that won the first prize was Armenia.

The "World's Leading Destination 2023" - the most important award at this year's final awards ceremony - was awarded to Maldives. This is also the fourth consecutive time the island nation has been honored in the above category.

World Travel Awards is the world's leading award, considered the "Oscar of the tourism industry", held annually since 1993.

The event aims to honor, reward and recognise excellence in the tourism industry globally.

Award categories include: World's leading hotels, resorts, airlines, travel agencies, destinations, and parks.

It is known that in addition to the World Travel Awards Asia-Pacific region in Ho Chi Minh City, the award ceremonies for other regions continue to take place in the island nation of Saint Lucia (Caribbean Sea), Batumi (Georgia) and Dubai of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
