From the afternoon of April 3, 6 palanquin processions from 10 villages in the commune gathered at the stadium to prepare for the ceremony. The ceremony began with the torch-carrying ceremony to light up the martyrs’ cemetery by the younger generation.

Next is the ceremony, representatives of 10 villages respectfully offer incense to the ancestors who have contributed to reclaiming the land, remembering the great contributions of the ancestors who gave birth to generations of heroes and patriots who contributed to making the homeland and country famous.

In his opening speech at the festival, Mr. Ha Van Minh - Chairman of Dien Quang Commune People's Committee said that Dien Quang currently has 97 clans living peacefully in 10 villages with 6 hamlets. Every year, many clans organize spring worship on Thanh Minh occasion, associated with tomb sweeping, which is an occasion for descendants to reunite.

Dien Quang commune organizes Thanh Minh festival with the purpose of showing gratitude to ancestors, guiding clans to preserve good cultural identity, family traditions, and solidarity and love for each other in life.

Before that, many festival activities took place such as organizing a traditional boat race, opening the Commune Sports Festival and launching the Olympic running day, and performing arts activities.

The place name Dien Quang was formed in the late 14th century. The ancestors were families originally from Nghe An and Thanh Hoa who came to open up and establish a career.

Since the beginning, the ancestors of the clans have united, fought against natural disasters and enemies to protect the village, establish hamlets, and preserve family traditions. For many generations, generations of Dien Quang people have stood side by side to preserve and build a rich and beautiful homeland.
