After a series of poor performances since the beginning of the 2024/25 season with Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA), coach Pham Anh Tuan resigned. The leadership of the Nghe An team agreed to let coach Pham Anh Tuan leave his position.
SLNA started the season with poor results, 7 consecutive matches without a win (4 draws, 3 losses). The Nghe An team only got 4 points and ranked last in the V.League rankings. After losing 0-1 to Thanh Hoa last weekend, coach Pham Anh Tuan wrote a letter of resignation. The reason he gave was that he felt he was no longer suitable to lead SLNA.

On the morning of November 11, SLNA's board of directors met with coach Pham Anh Tuan to discuss and agree on issues related to the 54-year-old's work. Although he left the head coach position, it is likely that Mr. Pham Anh Tuan will remain at SLNA, taking on another role in the youth team.
The poor performance in the early stages of the season has left SLNA fans dissatisfied. In addition to criticism and disappointment expressed on social media, SLNA fans are expecting a “new wind” in the head coach position.
In recent seasons, SLNA has appointed former Nghe An players such as Nguyen Huy Hoang, Phan Nhu Thuat… to the “captain” position but without success. Up to now, the identity of the new head coach of the Nghe An team has not been announced.
Song Lam Nghe An will travel to Quang Nam on November 15 and welcome The Cong Viettel at home on November 19. After that, V.League will take a break to make room for the Vietnam national team. Therefore, it is not impossible that they will use an assistant coach to take over temporarily.
