Sleeper bus burned to frame

Ninh Binh: A sleeper bus running from Lang Son to Ha Tinh caught fire, about 30 passengers were able to evacuate before the fire engulfed them, on the evening of January 2.

At around 11:40 p.m., a sleeper bus was traveling on bypass 477, near Ninh Van stone gate, Hoa Lu district, when a fire broke out in the cargo compartment. The driver quickly pulled the bus over to the side of the road and instructed passengers to evacuate.

"After about 10 minutes, the fire engulfed the vehicle. Only a small amount of goods in the cargo hold were saved, most of them burned with the vehicle," said a witness.

Ninh Binh Provincial Police mobilized 4 fire trucks and many soldiers to the scene. By midnight, the fire was extinguished, however, most of the vehicle's components were destroyed, only the frame remained.

The cause and damage from the fire are being investigated.
