The Hang Trong Painting Exhibition opened on the afternoon of March 18, including 40 paintings from 10 sets of paintings depicting ancient Chinese stories that are very familiar in the cultural and spiritual life of Vietnamese people.
These are stories such as Warring States, Three Kingdoms, Han-Chu competition, Zhaojun tribute to Hu, Eight Immortals, Four People...
However, these stories have long since ceased to be produced by Hang Trong painting makers, so folk painting lovers rarely have the opportunity to admire them.
The paintings were collected by researcher Phan Ngoc Khue several decades ago, and he spent a lot of effort restoring, reinforcing, framing, and carefully preserving them.
According to Mr. Khue, these paintings were probably created from the 19th century until before 1945, and are now more than 100 years old.
Not only did researcher Phan Ngoc Khue bring valuable paintings to the exhibition for the public to enjoy, on this occasion, he also donated the set of paintings of Zhaojun paying tribute to the Hu to the Vietnam Women's Museum.

Artist Phan Ngoc Khue - a researcher of Vietnamese ethnic art - said that the painting series "Chieu Quan Cong Ho" is one of the works of great social value. The female characters depicted in the series are all heroic women.
The series of paintings praises examples of loyalty, filial piety, chastity, and righteousness, aiming to promote education about beautiful personalities that every society needs to foster and build for contemporary people.
Therefore, he wanted to donate the paintings to the Vietnam Women's Museum.
Art and folk culture lovers can enjoy these precious paintings from now until March 31.
