Of which, Mu Cang Chai Protective Forest Management Board disbursed 8 billion VND; Tram Tau Protective Forest Management Board disbursed 3 billion VND. The payment of forest environmental services was made to the right subjects, promptly, publicly and transparently, contributing to increasing income, creating motivation for people to actively participate in forest management, protection and development. Thanks to that, the forest coverage rate of the province is always maintained at 63%.
It is known that in the period of 2021 - 2025, Yen Bai province has done well in collecting and paying for forest environmental services according to regulations. Of which, revenue from forest environmental services reached 653.5 billion VND, payment for forest environmental services was over 575.7 billion VND. At the same time, it has done well in managing and effectively using the fund for reforestation. Specifically, revenue from reforestation reached 84.6 billion VND, and to date, the disbursement has reached over 55 billion VND.
The policy of paying for forest environmental services not only provides a stable source of income for people but also stimulates awareness of forest protection, creates a strong motivation for people to stick with forest protection and development, contributes significantly to increasing forest coverage and improving forest ecology in localities. This is also an important source of funding for grassroots groups and teams to enhance their responsibility in managing and protecting forests in localities and increase income for many households, creating motivation for people to stick with, preserve and develop forests.
