Request Hanoi to clearly report on 'brokers' of 'ghost' obstetrics and gynecology clinic

The Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management requested Hanoi to report the case of a "broker" impersonating a doctor, defrauding 27 victims, and appropriating 123 million VND at Thu Huong clinic.

On July 12, the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment ( Ministry of Health ) informed that it had sent a document to the Hanoi Department of Health regarding the inspection and reporting of the incident that occurred at Thu Huong Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic at 44 Tho Nhuom, Cua Nam Ward, Hanoi.

The Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management said it had received information reflecting the incident of a "Group of brokers" pretending to be hospital security guards, bringing patients into the above clinic.

After review, the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management requested the Hanoi Department of Health to report: The assessment of the granting of an operating license to Thu Huong Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic at 44 Tho Nhuom. The inspection and supervision of the above Clinic during its operation from the time of granting the operating license to the time of the incident.

Report to the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management before 10:00 a.m. on July 14, 2025 for synthesis and reporting to the Ministry of Health's leaders.

According to previous reports, Hanoi police have just uncovered an extremely sophisticated medical fraud ring. Taking advantage of patients' anxiety, a group of "brokers" impersonated hospital security guards, took patients to the "ghost" clinic of a "fake doctor," and stole a total of 123 million VND from 27 victims.

According to the investigation, around March 2024, Nguyen Thi Thu Huong (born in 1980; permanent residence in Bach Mai, Hanoi) opened Thu Huong obstetrics and gynecology clinic at 44 Tho Nhuom, Cua Nam ward, Hanoi city to examine and treat obstetrics and gynecology diseases and ultrasound.

To serve the clinic's operations, Huong hired doctors to examine and treat patients and colluded with two "brokers" at the gate of the Central Maternity Hospital and K Hospital to bring customers to Huong's clinic./.
