In July 2025, amid unpredictable fluctuations in the global economy , especially the trend of tightening US trade policies and declining consumer demand in Europe, Da Nang's import and export activities recorded mixed developments.

The total two-way import-export turnover of the city reached 770 million USD, down 2.2% compared to the previous month but up slightly 0.1% compared to the same period in 2024. Of which, export turnover reached 411 million USD, down 2.5% compared to the previous month but up 3.7% compared to the same period; import turnover is estimated at 359 million USD, down 1.9% compared to the previous month and down 3.7% compared to the same period.

In the first 7 months of 2025, the total import and export turnover of goods is estimated to reach more than 5 billion USD, up 11.5% over the same period last year. Of which, the export turnover reached nearly 2.6 billion USD, up nearly 15% over the same period in 2024, showing the positive growth momentum of the export sector. The import turnover is estimated at nearly 2.5 billion USD, up more than 8% over the same period, showing that import activities remain stable, meeting the demand for input materials for production and consumption.

The trade balance of goods continues to maintain a surplus, with the trade surplus in July 2025 estimated at 52 million USD, bringing the total trade surplus in the first 7 months of 2025 to more than 100 million USD, more than double the level of 48.6 million USD in the first 6 months of the year. This development shows that the trade balance is clearly improving, while contributing positively to stabilizing the macro economy and promoting economic growth in Da Nang City.

According to the Da Nang Statistical Office, the above positive results reflect the effectiveness of new fiscal policies, especially Decree 174/2025/ND-CP (2% VAT reduction) and Decree 206/2025/ND-CP (import tax incentives). These policies have helped businesses reduce input costs, improve cash flow and enhance competitiveness in the international market.

Along with that are the efforts of enterprises to take advantage of free trade agreements (FTAs) in the context of the international market still having many uncertainties. Export enterprises in the city are gradually taking advantage of incentives from FTAs such as EVFTA, CPTPP, RCEP. However, the rate of enjoying incentives is still low because many small and medium enterprises have difficulties in meeting the rules of origin, quality standards and accessing new markets.
