8 teams compete in the Ho Chi Minh City Police Volleyball Open Tournament

On the afternoon of August 2, Ho Chi Minh City Police Department coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Volleyball Federation to hold a press conference to announce the Ho Chi Minh City Police Volleyball Tournament, competing for the first "Ho Chi Minh City Police Newspaper" Cup - 2024.

The tournament was organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Police to celebrate the 79th anniversary of National Day on September 2 and the 79th anniversary of the People's Public Security Forces' Traditional Day on August 19. The tournament was even more meaningful when it was held on the occasion of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Forces receiving the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces.

Speaking at the press conference to launch the tournament, Colonel Bui Ngoc Giap, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department's Special Topics Department and Head of the tournament's organizing committee, said that although it was held for the first time, the tournament gathered 8 volleyball teams competing in the national championship, national A-class tournament and an invited team from Cambodia to compete.

The tournament will start from August 12 to August 16 at Tan Binh Stadium. The teams are divided into two groups. Group A includes the Ho Chi Minh City Police men's volleyball team; Ben Tre province men's volleyball team; Tra Vinh province men's volleyball team and Vinh Long province men's volleyball team.

Group B includes: Binh Duong Construction Materials Joint Stock Company Men's Volleyball Team; Lavie Long An Men's Volleyball Team; Ho Chi Minh City Men's Volleyball Team and Visakha Club - Cambodia Men's Volleyball Team.

The teams will compete in a round robin to select the four teams with the highest scores to participate in the semi-finals and finals. The winning team will receive a cup, flag, gold medal and a prize worth 60 million VND.
