Many good signs
In the final round of the international music competition Sing! Asia 2025 (Young Voice of Asia), singer Phuong My Chi, representing Vietnam, finished in the top 3, after champion Mijuna (Japan) and runner-up Chu Phi Ca (China). Although she did not reach the highest position, the journey of spreading Vietnamese culture by Phuong My Chi and the music production team DTAP - the team behind the female singer, has left many special and proud marks.

Sing! Asia is an international music program that brings together promising young singers from many Asian countries such as China, Thailand, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia... and this year, Vietnam. Throughout nearly 2 months of competition, each episode Phuong My Chi appeared in was a time when she impressed with her vocal technique, unique performance style and clear breakthrough. Looking back at the journey from beginning to end, the female singer always caused a stir with the highest quality performances, inserting many details honoring national culture, while also connecting and exchanging with other countries. From Rock Hat Gao, Buon Trang, Tuy Am, Bong Phu Hoa, Vu Co Co Anh, to Lac Troi, Mot Bo Chopsticks... all were carefully invested in music and image. "I think, if I don't try, I won't know how far my ability goes. This is a rare opportunity to meet and learn from many international artists and step out of my long-standing comfort zone," Phuong My Chi shared.
Dolby Theatre, the long-standing cultural and artistic symbol of Hollywood (USA), the place chosen to host the Oscar Awards, has just announced the Ha Anh Tuan Live Concert Sketch A Rose (October 18). This is also the first time a Vietnamese music event has been present at the place known as the "arts cathedral" of the United States with a capacity of more than 3,400 seats. The music night is organized and produced by a Vietnamese crew: director Cao Trung Hieu, production director Vo Do Minh Hoang, music director Nguyen Huu Vuong, conductor Tran Nhat Minh, Crystal Band, Saigon Pops Orchestra, Cadillac backing group. The entire crew from Vietnam is ready to bring a carefully invested program, where contemporary Vietnamese melodies blend with global artistic inspiration.
Many other artists have also informed about their journey of "exporting" Vietnamese music to international stages such as Hoang Thuy Linh, Chi Pu, Van Mai Huong, Ngo Kien Huy, Hien Nguyen Soprano, Quoc Dat Bass - Baritone, Suni Ha Linh, Huynh Phuong Duy... Notably, singer My Linh has her first tour across Asia in her career called My Linh Xin Chao Tour 2025 - scheduled to take place in Japan (September 14) and Korea (October 11). Singer Trong Hieu has just informed about organizing Live Tour 2024 in 5 cities in Germany. Recently, in early July, singer Thoai Nghi announced that she will participate in her first European tour at 3 major music festivals in Croatia.
Identity fulcrum
Vietnamese artists are stepping onto world stages, making efforts to introduce Vietnamese music, demonstrating their talent, courage, and confidence in integration, which are encouraging signs. Obviously, to be recognized on a music stage like Sing! Asia - which is a prestigious launching pad for many young artists in Asia, Phuong My Chi and her team must have a very careful and clear strategy. “Appearing and performing on this stage is a bridge between tradition and modernity, between art and identity. Therefore, the performances are built like a story, where music and images tell the story of Vietnam. National identity is the artistic language fulcrum for us to rely on when going out into the world,” Phuong My Chi expressed.
For Ha Anh Tuan, the Sketch A Rose Live Concert project originated from the play Believe in Roses by the late writer Luu Quang Vu, with the message that: after the storm, roses will still bloom tomorrow, positive things always come. With the artistic imprints that the project has left at Esplanade Concert Hall (Singapore), Sydney Opera House (Australia), or at the upcoming Dolby Theatre (Los Angeles, USA), it is a strong affirmation of the cultural identity and artistic quality of Vietnamese music in the international arena. The Sketch A Rose journey has both contributed to defining the position of Vietnamese music and affirmed that Vietnamese music can flourish in faraway countries - something that was previously unimaginable.
The artists' consecutive successes all come from a comprehensive investment strategy, not only in music but also in image, stage thinking, and international positioning. And no artist can go it alone. Ha Anh Tuan's success over the years is the contribution of a team including Cao Trung Hieu, Vo Do Minh Hoang, Nguyen Huu Vuong, Tran Nhat Minh and prestigious bands; Phuong My Chi's success has DTAP and the management company behind her; My Linh's event has a prestigious handshake with Xin Chao Entertainment - a unit that has devoted many years to bringing Vietnamese artists to the international stage.
With consistency in their musical journey and a spirit of tireless service to art, artists are bringing the dream of Vietnamese music to the world's art spaces. Their careful preparation clearly demonstrates their seriousness and responsibility when bringing Vietnamese works to the international stage - not stopping at the performance but also focusing on fully conveying the content value to global audiences. Integrating but still maintaining the roots and identity is the mettle of each artist, to continue to extend the journey of spreading Vietnamese culture to the world through music - a language without borders.
