Sharing at the opening ceremony of the event, Mr. Jose Mestre, Commercial Director of Fresh Food, Central Retail Group said that over the years, Central Retail Vietnam and the GO! supermarket chain have continuously implemented programs to promote Vietnamese goods, including activities to increase domestic products, with over 90% of sales coming from domestic products and domestically produced goods.

At the same time, the Group also promotes consumption and purchases of agricultural products in local regions and supports farmers and agricultural cooperatives by implementing a policy of purchasing directly from the garden, supporting discounts and transporting through Central Retail Vietnam's general warehouses.

Mr. Bui Quang Hung, Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade) shared that our country is blessed by nature with many famous fruit specialties along with a variety of agricultural and aquatic products.

In recent times, Vietnam's agricultural exports have maintained a stable growth rate. In the first 6 months of 2024, agricultural exports reached 15.76 billion USD, an increase of 24.4% over the same period last year. It can be seen that agricultural exports in the first half of the year are achieving quite positive results.

The event “Proud of Vietnamese specialties” is a very meaningful initiative of Central Retail Group. This is not only a simple regional specialty festival, but also a strong affirmation of the interest of reputable retail businesses in promoting and developing Vietnamese products.

By focusing on introducing regional specialties, the event is expected to create an attractive shopping space, attracting a large number of consumers, helping small and medium-sized enterprises have the opportunity to expand the domestic market," Mr. Bui Quang Hung emphasized.

Typical regional culinary products and specialties introduced to consumers by GO!, Big C, and Topsmarket at this event include: Bun thang, Hanoi vermicelli with grilled pork, Hai Phong crab rice noodles, vermicelli with tofu and shrimp paste (North); Quang noodles, Hue beef noodles (Central); Nam Vang noodles, crab noodle soup, vermicelli with fish sauce, Tay Ninh mixed rice paper (South).
