Tropical depression has entered Quang Tri

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, as of 4:00 a.m. this morning (September 26), the center of the tropical depression was located at about 16.6 degrees North latitude; 107.2 degrees East longitude on the mainland of Quang Tri-Thua Thien Hue provinces. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression is level 6 (39-49 km/h), gusting to level 7-8. Moving in the West Northwest direction at a speed of about 15 km/h.

Still maintaining the same direction and speed, at 10am this morning, the center of the tropical depression was over the Southern Laos area.

Due to the influence of tropical depression, the sea area from Quang Binh to Da Nang (including Con Co and Cu Lao Cham island districts) and Bac Bo Gulf has strong winds of level 6, gusts of level 7-8, rough seas, waves 2-3m high.

The South China Sea area (including the Truong Sa archipelago), the sea area from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau has strong southwest winds of level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough seas, waves 2-4m high.

At the same time, on land this morning, coastal areas from Quang Binh to Da Nang have strong winds of level 6, gusting to level 7; further inland there are gusts of level 6.

According to the Meteorological Agency, from now until tomorrow (September 27), the weather in the Central Central region will have moderate rain, heavy rain, and some places will have very heavy rain with common rainfall from 50-150mm, especially in Quang Tri-Thua Thien Hue with some places over 150mm; the South Central, Central Highlands and Southern regions will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, and some places will have very heavy rain with common rainfall from 40-80mm, and some places over 120mm.

From now until September 28, in the area from Thanh Hoa to Quang Binh, there will be heavy to very heavy rain with common rainfall from 200-400mm, in some places over 450mm.

Last night, in the North and Central Central regions, there was heavy rain, some places had very heavy rain. The rainfall from 7pm last night to 2am this morning was over 100mm in some places such as: Huong Trach (Ha Tinh) 195.4mm, Hoa Thanh ( Quang Binh ) 188.2mm, A Luoi (Thua Thien Hue) 115mm...

At Con Co island station (Quang Tri), there are strong winds of level 6, gusting to level 8. Cu Lao Cham (Da Nang) has strong winds of level 7, gusting to level 8. Bach Long Vy island (Hai Phong) and Ly Son (Quang Ngai) have strong winds of level 7. Coastal areas from Quang Binh to Da Nang have strong winds of level 6.

The meteorological agency warned that heavy rains will be concentrated from Ha Tinh to Binh Dinh and the Northern Central Highlands. These areas have many ravines, so people need to be on guard against the high risk of flash floods and landslides.
