At the Green Vietnam Festival taking place at the Youth Cultural House (District 1), many visitors were surprised by the collection of polo shirts made from recycled fabrics such as coffee powder, seashells, stone powder... at the booth of Faslink Fashion Connection Joint Stock Company.

Turn waste into resources

Looking at the polo shirts with elegant, luxurious colors and soft, cool fabric, Ms. Mai Thi Chung was surprised to know that the shirts originated from waste.

Surprisingly, green products are not only environmentally friendly but also highly applicable and have many outstanding features compared to traditional fabrics.

For example, fabric made from coffee grounds has the ability to deodorize, effectively prevent stains, protect against the sun, and is thin, light, and dries quickly...

Sharing with Tuoi Tre Online, Mr. Vo Thanh Phuoc - Head of Product Development Department, Faslink Fashion Connection Joint Stock Company - said that after oyster shells, stone powder, coffee powder... are collected, they will be crushed into micro and nano sized particles, then processed by mixing with a cushion polymer and weaving into long fibers and then weaving into fabric.

Not only displaying impressive fashion products, Faslink's experience space also attracts visitors' attention when introducing an advanced technology: a machine that recycles old clothes.

Circular Fashion: The Key to a Green Future

Sharing about the impact of the fashion industry on the environment, Mr. Vo Thanh Phuoc - Head of Product Development, Faslink Fashion Connection Joint Stock Company - said that the rapid increase in clothing consumption has led to a series of environmental problems, from water pollution due to fabric dyeing to the huge amount of textile waste.

In that context, applying recycling and reuse solutions is not only an option, but an inevitable path to take.

Circular fashion, a branch of the circular economy , is creating profound changes in the global fashion industry.

The circular economic model allows for maximum reuse and recycling of all resources, thereby contributing to reducing waste and improving production efficiency.

This means that products at the end of their useful life are not simply waste but become valuable resources, ready to be recycled and put back into the supply chain.

Bringing the message of circular fashion to the festival, Mr. Phuoc shared his desire to join efforts to create a green community, contribute to a comprehensive transformation towards a sustainable circular economy, contribute to promoting green production and building a sustainable future for the environment and community.

Mr. Phuoc emphasized that changing consumer thinking is a key factor in promoting a green economy.

As the demand for green consumption increases, it will lead to the development of green production. Therefore, changing consumption habits towards sustainability not only plays an important role in green transformation but also promotes a green economy in a comprehensive way.

"Green production serves green consumption needs. When the community changes its consumer mindset, it will promote green production. Together, businesses and the community will better fulfill their sustainable mission," Mr. Phuoc emphasized.
