Vietnam Australia International School (VAS) has attracted nearly 8,000 students in 20 years thanks to the quality of education that improves every year, adapting to changes in society.
2024 marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the unit. From a small facility with 430 students in the first year of establishment, VAS has reached nearly 8,000 students with 6 large facilities. The unit representative said that VAS has gradually become one of the prestigious bilingual international schools in Ho Chi Minh City thanks to three main factors: quality products, human resources and educational philosophy.
Quality products
To serve the different learning orientations and economic conditions of Vietnamese families of the middle class and above, VAS researches, develops and perfects three educational product lines for each specific target group, including: intensive Cambridge English integration pathway (CEP); integrated Cambridge international program (CAP) and fully integrated Cambridge international program (CAPI).
In particular, CAPI is the key product line of VAS with a high teaching time of the Cambridge international education program, accounting for about 70% - 82% of total study time.
In addition to developing three pathways, VAS has expanded its educational model and provided a cross-level training program from kindergarten to grade 12. Thus, students can have a continuous and stable learning journey throughout 15 years of general education, without having to rotate between each level.
"The diversity, longevity and quality of our products have helped us attract many parents, thereby achieving a student growth rate of more than 1,700% after two decades," the system representative affirmed.

Staff
VAS focuses on developing a core team of staff, including foreign leaders with experience in managing, operating and developing large-scale multinational educational corporations in the world ; foreign teachers from the UK, US, Australia... and highly qualified Vietnamese people who understand traditions and cultural values.
The multi-ethnic environment in both the leadership and teaching staff contributes to creating conditions for generations of students to access and develop in a multicultural environment and prepare skills for international integration.

In terms of pedagogy, VAS also contributes to improving the overall quality of education of Cambridge schools in the region. The system has become a strategic partner of the Cambridge International Examinations Council (CAIE) to establish the Cambridge Teacher Training and Coaching Center (PDQs) in Vietnam.
Every year, PDQs organizes professional training courses for hundreds of teachers from VAS, other Cambridge schools in Vietnam and some neighboring countries to improve their professional skills according to Cambridge standards, and achieve internationally recognized professional certificates.
Adapt and innovate according to social context
According to Mr. Gilles Mahe - CEO of XCL Education Group, the owner of VAS, VAS's educational concept is to teach how to learn, helping students to be able to self-study and adapt to all situations.

To keep up with social changes, VAS has made improvements in learning content and supplemented practical knowledge for students through Wellbeing education programs (Peace of mind - Wisdom - Health of body), career counseling and university preparation, and 21st century skills development in addition to subjects from the Cambridge general education program.

Over the past 20 years, many VAS students have become world and Vietnamese valedictorians in the Cambridge international exams, "hunting" for scholarships worth millions of USD each year. Currently, VAS alumni are studying and working in many industries such as aviation, banking, business, medicine, entertainment, IT... in many countries around the world and Vietnam.
