In the early morning of August 25, a tractor-trailer truck passing through Ben Tren tunnel in Tuan Dao commune, Son Dong district, Bac Giang province was swept away by floodwaters from upstream.
According to the leader of Tuan Dao Commune People's Committee, the driver, Mr. NHĐ. (50 years old), fell into the flood. Luckily, at that time, the authorities and people discovered him in time.

Immediately, people threw a rope into the water for Mr. D. to hold on to, but because of panic, the driver lost his grip. Seeing that, Mr. NVT (34 years old) and Mr. NVL (36 years old) bravely jumped into the flood, saved Mr. D. and brought him to shore.
Local leaders said that on the evening of August 24, there was no rain in the area, but heavy rain in the upstream area caused floods to sweep through the commune.

By the afternoon of August 25, when the flood water had receded, authorities were organizing the salvage and bringing the tractor trailer ashore.
Sharing more, the commune leader said that the government is completing procedures and proposing to commend the bravery of Mr. T. and Mr. L. in saving people.
