Dr. Takashi Tsuchida is a neurosurgeon with a busy schedule and high work pressure. The nature of his work also made him quite stressed, leading to overeating and lack of control over quality and dosage.

There was a time when he ate three fast food meals a day and drank a bottle of whiskey in just a few days. This also caused the doctor's weight to skyrocket, reaching 88kg, BMI up to 33 with blood pressure and cholesterol levels exceeding safe levels.

As a doctor, Mr. Takashi understood his poor health at that time. Fearing that he would not live long, he decided to lose weight.

At first, he tried many different ways to lose weight to see which method was right for him. As for the meager diet menus, the doctor realized that they helped him lose weight very quickly in a short time but also easily gained it back.

He discovered that the key wasn't "eating less" but "maintaining it over the long term." From there, he focused on three key factors: eating enough protein, controlling blood sugar, and improving metabolism, which helped him lose 120 pounds.

Takashi also revealed a secret that he believes is an important factor in successful weight loss: making your own seasoning to eat with rice, which helps boost metabolism and increase the effectiveness of fat breakdown.

He calls it "slimming furikake" and it's made from tofu, shiitake mushrooms, bonito flakes, and a little chili powder, and maybe seaweed. All of these ingredients are mixed together, ground, and dried.

Tofu adds protein to prevent muscle loss, mushrooms contain B vitamins to boost metabolism, capsaicin in chili peppers activates fat-burning cells, and histamine from tuna flakes suppresses appetite. Japanese doctors often sprinkle this mixture on white rice, mix it into soups, or add it to stir-fries, boiled noodles, or rice balls.
