On September 11, the People's Committee of Ky Son district sent a report to the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, explaining the content of the press stating that "Cha Nga village, My Ly border commune, Ky Son is isolated, 93 households with more than 400 people are completely isolated".
Accordingly, from September 6-8, 2024, rain occurred in some areas in Ky Son district, causing landslides in some houses, roads, and damage to crops of people in the district.
On September 7, the District People's Committee reported on the Summary of damage caused by storm No. 1 in Ky Son district (Updated at 4:00 p.m. on September 7, 2024) according to report No. 328/BC-UBND dated September 7, 2024.
On September 8, the District People's Committee compiled data up to 4:00 p.m. the same day to report to the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control (sent via email address pclbnghean@gmail.com).
In the quick report on September 8, the District People's Committee reported data with the content "The Xieng Tam - Yen Hoa route, My Ly commune, has a landslide on the inter-village road with a total length of about 70m, width of 5m, thickness of about 2m, and volume of rock and soil of about 700 cubic meters" (data provided by My Ly commune People's Committee). However, at the time of the report, the route from Xieng Tam village to Xang Tren, Xop Duong, Cha Nga villages was not isolated due to landslides and rising river water (there was no report from My Ly commune People's Committee).
On September 9, heavy rain in My Ly commune caused landslides in several locations on the road from Xang Tren village to Cha Nga village, and the Nam Non river rose, making it difficult for people to travel (currently, only some sections of the road are accessible to pedestrians).
The river water level has risen, so the local government has warned people not to travel, and has directed the functional forces not to let people travel until safety is ensured. Therefore, the content "Cha Nga village, My Ly border commune, Ky Son is cut off, 93 households with more than 400 people are completely isolated" is not accurate.
Currently, the District People's Committee has directed the People's Committee of My Ly commune to mobilize local forces and machinery to temporarily handle landslides, ensuring the travel needs of the people. The People's Committee of My Ly commune is handling landslides on the roads in the area and proactively preparing some necessary necessities to serve the people when situations arise.
