Khanh Thy just had the debut of her first MV and album "Yes, I'm Getting Married" at Hanoi Radio and Television Station.
This is also the place where she won 3rd prize in the Hanoi Singing Contest in 2023.
Nong Nan Pho: "My best song with music"
10 years ago, Nong Nan Pho took the internet by storm with the poem "Anh ngủ thêm đi anh, em phai lên đi chồng" . After that, the poem was set to music many times.
However, when listening to "Yes, I'll Get Married " - a song composed by musician Hoang Hong Ngoc and sung by Khanh Thy, the author said "this is the best song; the musician kept the spirit of the poem intact, the singer sang with love and emotion, true to the mood of the female character in the poem".
Hoang Hong Ngoc said "Yes, I'll Get Married" was her first song set to poetry. Before that, she had written the lyrics and music for her own songs.
Initially, she composed the song in a pop ballad style, using pentatonic elements. However, it was later remixed by music director Nguyen Duy Nghia - the man behind the Thanh Am Ha Noi vinyl record recently produced by Hanoi Radio and Television - to sound more intimate and narrative.

Khanh Thy's Self-Exploration Album
In addition to the song set to music from the poem by Nong Nan Pho, the album also has 5 other songs: Lonely , Love, Love , Broken Life , Love and Hatred (Delilah ). These are all old songs, previously performed very successfully by many famous artists, now completely remixed and arranged.
That shows that the debut album, although still fragile and self-exploratory, also partly shows Khanh Thy's personality.
People's Artist Ha Thuy, Khanh Thy's teacher, assessed that her student has a powerful voice, is passionate and full of energy.
This is a necessary quality for a singer, but Khanh Thy still has to control it more.
"Because of her overflowing energy, Khanh Thy spent a while struggling to find her way. Well, getting married is a late product, it could have come sooner," Ms. Ha Thuy shared.
Music producer Nguyen Duy Nghia said Khanh Thy contacted him to ask for his help with the music.
The topic she gave was only one word "love". Duy Nghia chose to put 6 songs next to each other, creating a story that follows the flow of emotions and is not picky about the listener.
He said this album is for those who have experienced a bit. He even jokingly said "women who are heartbroken should listen to this album to get to the bottom of their broken emotions".
The album combines many music genres such as 90s style pop ballad, bossanova, fuffle, Latin... Combined with Khanh Thy's deep, husky voice, it gives the album a nostalgic yet fresh color.
