New personnel changes at SJC after news of 6 people being prosecuted

SJC Company has the right of general director

The official website of SJC Company has updated Mr. Dao Cong Thang as acting general director. Mr. Tran Van Tinh as chairman of the board of members and Mr. Nguyen Tien Phuoc as member of the board of members.

This is a new personnel development at this company. Previously, at the regular Government press conference on November 9, Major General Hoang Anh Tuyen (deputy chief of staff, spokesman of the Ministry of Public Security ) said that 6 people at Saigon Jewelry Company Limited (SJC) and related units were prosecuted for taking advantage of the gold price stabilization business, creating fake documents, and appropriating assets.

Mr. Tuyen said that the initial investigation results showed that the defendants took advantage of the gold price stabilization business to create fake documents and books and appropriated assets. "The Ministry of Public Security is focusing on consolidating evidence, expanding the investigation, and thoroughly recovering the appropriated assets," Mr. Tuyen said.

However, the police have not yet announced the identities and specific actions of these people.

Before Mr. Thang, the general director of SJC Company was Ms. Le Thuy Hang. Ms. Hang officially took office as general director of SJC Company in December 2019.

Delegate the authority of the general director for a period not exceeding 12 months

SJC is a 100% state-owned enterprise, under the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , a representative of SJC Company confirmed that Mr. Dao Cong Thang was appointed by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to hold the position of acting general director of SJC Company on October 18, nearly a month before the news that 6 people at the company and related units were prosecuted for taking advantage of the gold price stabilization business, creating fake documents, and appropriating assets.

Decision 4624 of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee clearly states: "The authority of General Director of Saigon Jewelry Company Limited SJC is assigned to Mr. Dao Cong Thang. Mr. Thang is responsible for leading, managing, operating and performing the duties of General Director according to current regulations until a decision is made to appoint General Director of SJC Company. The term of authority assignment shall not exceed 12 months".
