Implementing Resolution No. 36-NQ/TW dated January 30, 2023 of the Politburo on the development and application of biotechnology to serve the country's sustainable development in the new situation, from June 26 to July 12, 2024, the working delegation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade led by Dr. Nguyen Viet Tan - Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology will have a working session with a number of units related to the field of industry and biotechnology in all three regions of the North, Central and South.

The working sessions aim to gather sufficient information to develop the "Project for developing biological industry in the economic and technical sector of the Industry and Trade sector", promote the capacity of research and training institutions, the intelligence of scientists, the central role of enterprises in receiving and applying technology in production practices, take advantage of opportunities, focus investment resources on developing biological industry, innovate policy mechanisms, seek international cooperation and support, create favorable conditions for enterprises to invest and produce products from biotechnology of the Industry and Trade sector and become an important economic and technical sector, promote economic growth, serve social security, protect the environment, contribute to the sustainable development of the country in the new situation.
At the meeting, the units will discuss research and development orientations; the need to receive core technology, advanced technology domestically, regionally and internationally; propose limitations and recommendations on amending current mechanisms and policies for promoting the development of biotechnology in Vietnam; propose solutions to support scientists and enterprises in technology transfer, technology reception, and implementation of contents related to the application and development of biotechnology in industrial, medium and small-sized enterprises in accordance with the actual situation in Vietnam and locally.
Based on the comments of the units, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will collect and complete the "Project on developing biological industry in the economic and technical sector of Industry and Trade" and submit it to the Prime Minister for approval in 2024.
