Russian Foreign Ministry informs about new round of negotiations between Russia and the US

On March 10, TASS news agency quoted Maria Zakharova, official spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, as saying that a new round of negotiations between Russia and the US in Saudi Arabia has not been scheduled this week and Russia has not yet received relevant information from the US.

“There are no plans for a new meeting. Moreover, we have not received any information from the US side,” TASS news agency quoted Ms. Maria Zakharova as saying.

Earlier, CNN quoted an anonymous source as saying that a new meeting between Russia and the US could take place in Saudi Arabia this week as part of the second round of negotiations. However, the source refused to disclose the participants in the negotiations.

Meanwhile, on March 7, according to the Gazeta.ru news site, the Saudi Arabian Foreign Ministry announced that representatives of the US and Ukraine will hold talks to resolve the conflict next week in the city of Jeddah. The parties will discuss the mechanism for achieving a temporary ceasefire and forming the basis for a peace dialogue between Russia and Ukraine. Then, on March 10, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky will travel to the Saudi Arabian capital to meet with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
