According to the announcement of the Drug Administration, the recalled product batch number 25BW02C, produced and distributed by Ta Minh Quang Import-Export Trading Production Company Limited (Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City). Test results from the Ho Chi Minh City Drug Testing Institute showed that this product did not meet microbiological standards.

On that basis, the Drug Administration requested cosmetic businesses to immediately stop selling the products and return them to the suppliers. Ta Minh Quang Company is responsible for recalling and destroying all violating shipments, under the supervision of the authorities. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health is also directed to inspect the production and distribution activities of the enterprise and handle violations according to regulations.

Not only the Geisha shower gel batch, recently, the Ministry of Health has discovered a series of other cosmetic products that violate regulations on quality, labeling and ingredient declaration. Among them, many products distributed by Shynh Beauty Company Limited have been suspended from circulation, recalled and forced to be destroyed.

Specifically, Super Shine Biocell Mask (Episoo brand) produced by HNB Cosmetics Joint Stock Company ( Long An ) was recalled because the product label contained misleading content that it was a medicine. Similarly, Coconut & Rice Milk Bath Salt (S-White brand), lot number DE024, produced by Neidi Viet Thai Pharmaceutical and Cosmetics Company Limited was also recalled due to labeling errors.

Another product, Shin Nee Premium Cleansing Foam (Shin Nee brand), lot number 24I0302, distributed by Shynh Beauty and manufactured by Hanacos Co., Ltd (Korea), was recalled because the formula did not match the published records.

In addition to recalling the product, the Department of Pharmacy has also revoked the Cosmetic Declaration receipt number for this product and temporarily stopped receiving new declaration dossiers from Shynh Beauty Company for a period of 6 months, starting from June 4.

At the same time, the Drug Administration also decided to suspend circulation and recall nationwide the hair conditioner product Keratin Conditioner (800 ml bottle, lot number 230225) produced by Hong Dat Cosmetics and Chemicals Company Limited (Hai Duong), due to not meeting the standards on microbiological limits.

According to experts, cosmetics with misleading labels as drugs can easily lead consumers to misuse them, delaying necessary medical treatment.

In addition, products that do not comply with the declared formula may contain unsafe ingredients that cause irritation, allergies or long-term effects on the health of the user. In particular, products that do not meet microbial limits may cause skin damage or infection when used.

Notably, recently, authorities have continuously discovered many types of counterfeit and poor quality goods in the fields of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, functional foods and medical equipment.

Many celebrities have also been criticized by the public for promoting products of unknown origin and with false uses. Recently, four cosmetic products including sunscreen, shampoo, conditioner and facial mask advertised by singer Doan Di Bang and distributed by her husband’s company were also determined to be fake and of poor quality.

Faced with the complicated situation of smuggling, trade fraud and circulation of counterfeit goods, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has directed relevant agencies to launch a peak period of inspection and handling of violations in the fields of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, functional foods and medical equipment, in order to protect the rights and health of consumers.
