On the evening of August 3 at Lanh Binh Thang Stadium (HCMC), the 2025 HDBank National Futsal Cup officially opened in a vibrant and solemn atmosphere. This is a meaningful sporting event towards the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day September 2 and the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Voice of Vietnam (September 7, 1945 - September 7, 2025).
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Vu Hai Quang - Deputy General Director of Voice of Vietnam, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee of the Tournament emphasized: "It is meaningful that today's opening whistle is in harmony with the important historical milestones of the country, arousing national pride and noble sportsmanship spirit".
Taking place right after the 2025 National Championship ended more than a month ago, this year's HDBank National Futsal Cup continues its mission of connecting continuous competition for clubs, and is also an important preparation step for the Vietnam Futsal Team before the 2026 Asian Futsal Qualifiers (from September 20-24) and the 33rd SEA Games later this year.
According to Mr. Vu Hai Quang, the series of futsal tournaments under the brand name VOV – VFF, with the persistent support of HDBank over the years, has contributed to professionalizing futsal in the country, from organization, communication to television copyright.
“Every ball, every shot will not only be a competitive effort but also an inspirational message, nurturing the love of futsal in the hearts of fans,” Mr. Quang shared.
This year’s tournament brings together the 8 strongest futsal clubs in the country – elite representatives with the desire to conquer and reach the continental level. This is not only a place for players to demonstrate their skills and bravery, but also a playground for national pride.
“Solidarity – Nobility – Honesty – Dedication are the core values that the tournament aims for. Fair play is the spirit that runs through every match. The fire of passion and the desire to win will take Vietnamese futsal far,” Mr. Quang affirmed.
“Glory in the Footsteps”: When Music Fuels Passion
One of the notable highlights of the 2025 season is the theme song “Glory on the Steps” – an exclusive composition by musician and singer Hoang Bach, performed for the first time at the opening ceremony.
The song has a vibrant melody and passionate lyrics. It is a collaboration between the Organizing Committee and artist Hoang Bach, jointly owned by Voice of Vietnam and the musician.
With the message: "Victory is not just a destination, but a courageous journey to overcome your own limits", the song has "fueled" the competitive spirit of athletes and fans in the stands.
The Organizing Committee said that the official MV of the song will be released to fans soon.
