On the afternoon of March 12, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long led a working delegation to inspect the construction progress of two expressway projects, Van Phong - Nha Trang and Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot (component project 1).

The Van Phong - Nha Trang Expressway project started construction in early 2023 with Project Management Board 7 - Ministry of Construction as the investor, and was initially expected to be completed by the end of 2025. The project is more than 83 km long, passing through Ninh Hoa town and 3 districts of Van Ninh, Dien Khanh, Khanh Vinh.
To date, the project has completed more than 70km. The project's construction output has reached more than 91%, exceeding the contract schedule by about 11%. Project Management Board 7 is resolutely directing the contractor to speed up the construction progress of nearly 13km remaining at the beginning of the route, striving to complete the project by April 30, 8 months ahead of schedule as directed by the Prime Minister.

The Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway Component 1 project is about 31.5km long, passing through 8 communes and wards of Ninh Hoa town and is invested by the Khanh Hoa Provincial Management Board of Investment and Construction of Agricultural and Transport Works with a total investment of more than VND 5,333 billion. The project is divided into 3 construction packages, of which package 1 is implemented by Son Hai Group Company Limited. Package 2 is implemented by Phuong Nam - Bac Trung Nam - 168 Vietnam Joint Venture and package 3 is implemented by Truong Son Construction Corporation.
Up to now, Ninh Hoa Town People's Committee has handed over the site for actual construction on site for 28.69km/31.5km (reaching 91.1%) with an area of 210ha/228.17ha (reaching 92%). Currently, the project still has 16 sections of land, of which 12 sections go through areas with houses on land that must be resettled and 4 sections go through areas where resettlement is not planned.
Mr. Dang Huu Tai - Director of the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects for Agricultural and Transport Works of Khanh Hoa Province - said that the construction units are striving to complete the first 20km of the route by the end of this year according to the Prime Minister's direction; the remaining section will be completed in 2026.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long praised the efforts of the locality, investors and contractors in site clearance and construction, especially the Van Phong - Nha Trang Expressway project. However, at the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway project, there are still many locations where the site has not been handed over, and the construction output is still low, failing to meet the set plan.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested that localities, investors and contractors must be more determined and make more efforts to meet the completion schedule of projects in the list of 3,000km of expressways this year.
