From January 1, 2025, the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety officially takes effect. Notably, Article 58 adds a provision for deducting points from driving licenses.
Driving license points are used to manage drivers' compliance with laws on road traffic order and safety on the road traffic order and safety database system, including 12 points.
The number of points deducted for each violation depends on the nature and severity of the violation of laws on road traffic order and safety.
Data on driving license deduction points of violators will be updated into the database system immediately after the penalty decision comes into effect and the person whose driving license points are deducted will be notified.
To track driver's license points, people need to install the VNeID application on their phones and upgrade their electronic identification account to level 2.
After that, people integrate their driver's license into their VNeID account. Once successfully integrated, people go to the application, select the driver's license section, and enter the 6-digit passcode that was set up in advance.
The application will display the types of integrated driving licenses, including information such as license number, date of issue, place of issue, expiration date and remaining points.
If your driving license has not been deducted points, 12 points will be displayed.
At the same time, people can track their driving license points history. Specifically, the number of points deducted, the unit that handled the points deduction, the date of processing, and the decision to process.
In addition, the VNeID application also allows people to integrate vehicle registration papers and can present documents related to the driver and vehicle for traffic police to check through this application.
