Recently, the “service” of making fake citizen identification cards (CCCD) has appeared widely on social networks. Below are 3 important details that Ho Chi Minh City Police have provided to help people distinguish between real and fake CCCDs.

Policy - Distinguishing between real and fake ID cards to avoid being scammed: Pay attention to 3 details

-The difference in the color of the National Emblem

With genuine CCCD, the National Emblem is printed on the surface with even, clear, and bright colors. For fake CCCD, the National Emblem in particular and the color of the print in general are different, uneven, and unclear.

- Difference in electronic chip

There are also many differences between the electronic chip between real and fake cards. On real CCCDs, the electronic chip will be made of gold metal attached directly to the card. For fake CCCDs, the chip is only printed directly with poor quality or the chip is attached from the phone sim to the card.

- Differences in signature and stamp on card

On a genuine CCCD, the signature and stamp on the card are printed clearly, with clear, bright and even colors. Meanwhile, on a fake CCCD, the signature and stamp are printed blurry, unclear, and the colors are mixed and uneven in some places.

According to the law, the act of counterfeiting, using fake ID cards, buying and selling ID cards will be fined up to 6 million VND and other additional penalties and remedial measures will be applied. Therefore, the Police Department recommends that people pay attention, do not participate in associations, groups and commit illegal acts as above; immediately report to the nearest Police Department when discovering organizations or individuals showing signs of making, using fake ID cards or buying and selling ID cards.
