After the victim jumped off Long Bien bridge into the Red River, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team on the river quickly approached the scene and rescued the victim.
On the evening of March 29, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department ( Hanoi City Police) said that at around 5:45 p.m. the same day, the unit received a report of someone jumping off Long Bien Bridge.
After receiving the news, the Hanoi Police Command Information Center mobilized 1 rescue vehicle of Long Bien District Police, 1 canoe of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team on the river, Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department and 14 officers and soldiers to the scene to organize rescue.

Upon arriving at the scene, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team on the river quickly deployed a team of buoys and ropes, swam out to approach the victim and urgently brought the victim onto a canoe to perform first aid, then took the victim to the 108 Central Military Hospital.
The police then also notified the local police force and contacted the victim's family.
According to authorities, the victim who jumped off the bridge was a 20-year-old male.
