Police have been tracking the suspects since the September 1 killing, in which the suspects ordered the victims to lie face down and shot them in the back of the head.

Police said the suspects are also believed to be involved in illegal drug trafficking.

South African Police Minister Senzo Mchunu is expected to address lawmakers later on September 3 about the high levels of extortion in the country.

South Africa has the highest murder rate in the world , with police data released last week showing an average of 68 murders a day across the country between April and June.
