Update on cherry blossom check-in schedule in Northeast Asia

Many places in Taiwan and Hong Kong (China) are already blooming with spring flowers, while the cherry blossom season in Japan and Korea has yet to begin.

Hong Kong (China)

The area around Chek Lap Kok Airport is a prominent cherry blossom spot. This year, the flowers have been in bloom since mid-February. According to Time Out, this year's cherry blossom garden has been expanded into a "cherry blossom bay" with more than 100 trees. The flowers will bloom in two separate batches, one of which is currently in full bloom, and the other expected to bloom in the second half of March.

The cherry blossom garden here is open from 8am to 8pm every day. On Fridays and Saturdays, it opens until 10pm. If you are busy during the day, you can arrange to experience the "cherry blossom night" from 5pm onwards.

Japan

This year's Japanese cherry blossom season has not changed much compared to previous years, the blooming time falls between late March and late April. Since late February, the Japan Meteorological Agency has made forecasts for the cherry blossom season for each region.

However, the blooming of the flowers will be greatly affected by the weather in March, so tourists planning to travel to Japan to see the flowers should keep a close eye on it. For example, last year, the early spring was colder, so the flowers bloomed a few weeks later.

Korea

The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) announced that this year's cherry blossoms are expected to bloom from March 20 to April 10. The blooming time varies from region to region, but cherry blossoms usually bloom for two weeks from the time they first bloom until they wither.

Jeju, Busan, Yeosu, Ulsan are the places where cherry blossoms will bloom the earliest. Meanwhile, Chuncheon and Gwangju will be the places for tourists to see cherry blossoms blooming at the end of the season. In general, the best time to enjoy cherry blossoms and explore Korean culture is the end of March and the beginning of April.
