"According to the latest information from the Vietnamese representative agencies in Egypt, Lebanon, Iran and Israel, the situation of Vietnamese citizens in these areas remains safe and stable," Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said on September 19 in response to a reporter's question regarding the series of explosions of communication equipment that killed dozens of people and injured thousands in Lebanon recently.

Following the direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vietnamese representative agencies in Egypt, Lebanon, Iran and Israel continue to closely coordinate with local agencies to closely monitor developments, proactively develop and deploy citizen protection plans, including plans to evacuate citizens from dangerous areas, Ms. Hang said.

Also at the press conference, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs clearly stated Vietnam's response to the incident.

"Vietnam is closely following and deeply concerned about recent developments in the Middle East. Vietnam calls on relevant parties to exercise restraint, end conflicts, increase dialogue, resolve disagreements by peaceful means, in compliance with international law and the United Nations Charter, for the benefit of the people, for peace and stability in the region," Ms. Hang affirmed.

For Vietnamese citizens in the above-mentioned countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends regularly monitoring information from local authorities, warnings from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as Vietnamese representative agencies in the localities to respond promptly.

In case of needing assistance, Vietnamese citizens can call the citizen protection hotline of Vietnamese representative agencies in the above-mentioned countries, as well as the citizen protection hotline of the Consular Department - Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
