On April 15, Binh Chanh District Police (HCMC) are investigating and clarifying a scrap yard fire in the area, suspected to have been caused by burning trash.

That same afternoon, people saw a fire in an empty lot near Khuat Van Buc Street (Tan Kien Commune, Binh Chanh District) and shouted. Everyone used fire extinguishers and water to put out the fire but failed.

In an area with a lot of tall dry grass and hot weather, the fire quickly spread, approaching residential areas along Khuat Van Buc Street.

Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team (PCCC-CNCH) of Binh Chanh District Police dispatched vehicles and officers and soldiers to the scene. At this time, the fire had spread to a scrap yard of hundreds of square meters, burning fiercely.

Black smoke from the fire covered the entire area. Authorities divided into many directions to approach the fire, preventing the fire from spreading. A section of Khuat Van Buc Street through the fire area was temporarily blocked, vehicles moving here were asked to find another way.

At nearly 3 p.m. the same day, the authorities were able to control the fire. However, they had to send an excavator to dig up the debris at the site of the fire to spray water to cool it down.

The fire destroyed many properties inside the scrap yard. Fortunately, there were no casualties. Initially, the cause was determined to be due to suspected garbage burning causing the fire to spread.
