Local media reported that early this morning, September 24, Israel carried out an airstrike on a five-story building south of the Lebanese capital Beirut. Images posted on Lebanese media showed that the attack destroyed the fourth and fifth floors of the building.

The attack killed at least six people and wounded 15. Among those killed was Ibrahim Qubaisi, a top commander in charge of Hezbollah's missile unit.

Israel has not commented, but the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) earlier confirmed carrying out a targeted airstrike south of Beirut.

Israel began a large-scale attack campaign on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon earlier this week.

The wave of attacks continued today, September 24. The Israeli military announced that it would "accelerate offensive operations" after carrying out large-scale airstrikes against Hezbollah in Lebanon.

According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health , Israeli attacks over the past two days have killed at least 558 people, including 50 children and 94 women. September 23 marked the bloodiest day in Lebanon since 2006. In addition, more than 1,800 others were injured.

Israeli attacks have displaced tens of thousands of people in southern Lebanon.

The international community has called on all parties to exercise restraint, stressing that diplomacy is the only way to resolve the conflict.
