Prince William shares about the royal war

Prince William has said that not all families want to spend time together, a comment seen as a reference to his strained relationship with his younger brother Prince Harry.

However, RadarOnline.com revealed that Prince William - the future king - was "just hiding his pain" behind humour as he was "devastated" by a disagreement with his younger brother Prince Harry.

The 42-year-old heir to the throne made the comments while visiting the Air Force Corps on June 4 to appoint several positions.

The appointment, which was previously expected to be taken up by Harry, is seen as a significant change in royal responsibilities after the prince steps down from royal duties in 2020.

William asked the soldiers how often they saw their families, before saying: "Some of them probably don't want to see you much."

The remarks, delivered with a wry smile, drew laughter from the soldiers but also drew fresh attention to the deep, enduring rift between William and Harry, 40, which sources close to the palace said had reached a "point of no return".

According to many royals, the two brothers have not spoken to each other for more than two years and there is currently no way to reconcile.

The Air Corps has special significance in the context of royal divisions.

Harry served in the Army during his second tour of duty in Afghanistan from 2012 to 2014, serving as an Apache helicopter commander and gunner pilot.

Now, as William steps into the ceremonial role that Harry was once expected to fill, the estrangement between the brothers appears deeper than ever.

"Any reconciliation between the brothers will require more than just a conversation, it will require a real reckoning of the emotional damage on both sides," said royal commentator Amanda Matta.

“This is not just about two brothers at odds, as you and I might understand,” she added. “This complex and widening rift is about two very different worldviews – one about maintaining traditions, the other about breaking them down when they are perceived to be harmful.”

The gap between the two has grown since Harry's departure from royal life and his subsequent criticism of the institution.

In his memoir Spare and through interviews with Oprah Winfrey and others, Harry has portrayed the harshness of life inside the monarchy, often implying that William has sided with the institution rather than his family.

William, in contrast, has remained silent in public, even as sources close to him say his patience is running out.

The possibility of a reconciliation between Prince William and Prince Harry is increasingly remote.

"The relationship between the two brothers will be very difficult to rebuild. Right now, it seems like they are saying completely different things," Matta added.

When asked if William would invite Harry to his coronation one day, a palace insider said bluntly: "I can't imagine William inviting Harry to his coronation."

Right now, the only conceivable meeting place for the two remains a tragic place.

"King Charles' funeral will be the first time courtiers envision a reunion," said one source, adding: "Even then, no one expects a full reconciliation."

At the event on June 4, William's statement may have made the soldiers laugh, but for many close to the royal family, it was like the tip of the iceberg of his "real pain".

Many people said: "Prince William is just trying to laugh to forget the pain. He would be very happy to be reunited with Harry".
