On the morning of January 3, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Bui Thanh An said: According to updated data up to December 31, 2023, the province's budget revenue for the whole year of 2023 is more than 20,250 billion VND, reaching 127.88% of the assigned plan (15,836 billion VND).

Of which, domestic revenue was over VND 18,972 billion, reaching 130.07% of the plan (VND 14,586 billion); revenue from import-export activities was nearly VND 1,278 billion, reaching 102.23% of the plan (VND 1,250 billion).

The above results reflect Nghe An's efforts to overcome difficulties and strive to achieve the highest results in implementing financial and budgetary tasks in 2023 in a context where difficulties are perceived to outweigh advantages and challenges are greater than opportunities.

The reason is that the world and regional situation is changing rapidly, complicatedly and unstable; the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has led to a deep impact on production and business.

However, with great efforts, last year, Nghe An achieved many outstanding results. The economy maintained a fairly good growth rate (7.14%), higher than the national growth rate (5.05%).

For the second consecutive year, Nghe An ranked in the top 10 localities attracting the largest FDI in the country, with more than 1.6 billion USD (ranked 8/63 provinces and cities). Total export turnover exceeded the 3 billion USD mark for the first time, reaching 3.11 billion USD, up 22.6% over the same period. Budget revenue exceeded 20,000 billion VND for the second consecutive year.

According to Resolution No. 61/NQ-HDND dated December 7, 2023, Nghe An Provincial People's Council set a growth target of 9-10% in 2024; budget revenue of VND 15,903 billion, an increase compared to the 2023 plan.
