- Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Trong: This Bamboo Airways General Meeting of Shareholders takes place before the end of the term of the current Board of Directors.
Therefore, the members agreed to resign so that the General Meeting of Shareholders can elect new members of the Board of Directors for the 2023 - 2028 term, with a structure of 1 chairman, 3 vice chairmen and 3 members of the Board of Directors. In which, most of the old members of the Board of Directors will continue to run for the next term, it is expected that a number of new members will be added who are senior leaders with extensive experience in aviation in the world to complete the leadership apparatus.
* Can you inform us about Bamboo Airways' accumulated losses up to the end of 2022?
Of Bamboo Airways' losses, only about VND4,800 billion is a real loss from the airline's core business activities, the rest mostly comes from non-aviation business activities but were ineffective in the period before the new investor joined.
The new management and investors have clearly understood the situation and have taken actions to accompany the airline in overcoming difficulties. The new investors have poured in nearly VND8,000 billion to increase charter capital, restructure capital sources, convert debt into equity to balance losses, bring the airline's charter capital back to positive, ensure conditions for the airline to continue operating its aviation business and be able to request an increase in fleet size.
Since the participation in management, restructuring, and adjustment of business plan orientation by the new investor and the board of directors, the company's operations have changed in a more positive direction and are starting to show results.

* What is the next direction of Bamboo Airways' leadership, sir?
We will continue to restructure overall, aiming to optimize costs and increase revenue, with the motto "do it for real, do it right, do it quickly" as General Director Nguyen Minh Hai once shared.
Firstly, we will continue to promote the development of our fleet and expand our flight network, especially to the international market. Thereby, improving the efficiency of Bamboo Airways' core business of air transport.
Bamboo Airways will expand its flight network in the near future.
Second , we will focus on optimizing costs by building a comprehensive ecosystem that complements core business activities. A specific example is the establishment of aviation service companies such as Aviation Fuel Company, Aviation Ground Services Company, and Aviation Catering Company, which have been implemented since the participation and resource support of new investors.
Third, Bamboo Airways will continue to improve service quality, which is the airline's strength and core value, as well as promote digital transformation to effectively support management, operations, and customer care activities...
With the plans, Bamboo Airways' leadership expects that by 2024, Bamboo Airways will record a profit, and in the next few years will offset the current gross loss.

After 5 years since its official launch in 2018, Bamboo Airways has passed the initial development stage and gained a certain position in the Vietnamese aviation market. Now, we are ready for a new transformation, entering a new period focusing on stronger development in depth, striving to become an Asian aviation brand.
