'Fire of the Pen' exchange program to celebrate 100 years of Vietnam Revolutionary Press

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), on the evening of June 18, the Provincial Journalists Association and Nghe An Radio and Television Station organized the exchange program "Fire of the Pen". The program aims to honor journalists and mark the journey of maturity of Nghe An journalism in the flow of Vietnam revolutionary journalism.

Attending the program were comrades: Ngoc Kim Nam - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; along with leaders of departments, agencies, press agencies and many generations of outstanding journalists in the area.

“Fire of the Pen” is an opportunity to honor journalists who have contributed to the development of Nghe An province’s press. The program brought true, inspiring professional stories from veteran journalists, such as journalist Tran Hong Co – former Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Labor Newspaper, who steadfastly fought with her pen against negativity; journalist Phan Thi Thuy Lien – former Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper, who was likened to a “fire-resistant brick” by her colleagues because of her dedication and courage; journalist Tran Duy Ngoan – former Director of Nghe An Radio and Television Station, who is still devoted to journalism despite his retirement.

In the next exchange, journalists working in Nghe An such as journalist Vu Toan (collaborator of Communist Magazine), journalist Nhat Lan (Nghe An Newspaper) and journalist Xuan Huong (Nghe An Radio and Television Station) shared about professional pressure, journalistic principles and dedication to pursuing the truth.

Stories from practical work not only demonstrate professional qualities but also reflect the sense of responsibility, desire to contribute and humanity of journalists.

The program is also a forum for journalists and leaders of Nghe An province to discuss the direction of press development in the digital transformation period. Journalist Tran Minh Ngoc - Chairman of Nghe An Journalists Association, Director of Nghe An Radio and Television Station emphasized that journalists today need to change their thinking, adapt to technology but still maintain their mettle, guiding role and responsibility to society.

The opinions of comrade Nguyen Ba Hao - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and comrade Pham Ngoc Canh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department also affirmed the importance of improving the effectiveness of state management, while creating conditions for the press to operate in accordance with its principles and purposes, serving the development of the province effectively and sustainably.

Interspersed between the exchange sessions are special and emotional performances such as "Vietnam's Pride", "Continue Writing the Story of Peace", "Let the Wind Take It Away", "Journalist Song"... performed by journalists, reporters, and editors of Nghe An Radio and Television Station and Nghe An Newspaper, contributing to honoring journalism and spreading love for the profession to the public.
