Hanoi Police Club and Pham Ly Duc actually reached an agreement and signed a contract in mid-July. However, the police team had to wait for Ly Duc to finish playing in the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Tournament with U23 Vietnam before announcing the deal.
"Following the success at U23 Southeast Asia with the convincing championship of U23 Vietnam, Pham Ly Duc officially begins a new chapter in his career by joining the Hanoi Police Club, where he will continue to develop, contribute and conquer new challenges in the red shirt", Hanoi Police Club informed.
Joining the Hanoi Police Club, Pham Ly Duc will be a quality addition to the defense, which has shown many weaknesses and lacked stability in recent seasons.
Pham Ly Duc was born in 2003, from Tay Ninh, is a player who grew up at Hoang Anh Gia Lai . Ly Duc is 1.82m tall, is a promising central defender of U23 and the Vietnam national team.
Right in the first season of playing in V-League (2024 - 2025 season), Ly Duc easily won the starting position and affirmed his impressive professional ability. That performance helped him catch the attention of Hanoi Police Club and U23 Vietnam.
When he joined the U23 team, Ly Duc even made a strong impression on coach Kim Sang Sik, and was promoted by the Korean coach to the Vietnamese national team to train with the seniors. Ly Duc made his debut for the national team in the match against Malaysia in the first leg of the third qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup in June.
With 1 goal after 4 starting matches in the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship, Pham Ly Duc helped U23 Vietnam win the regional championship for the 3rd time, opening up hope for Vietnamese football before the 2026 Asian U23 qualifiers and men's football at the 33rd SEA Games at the end of the year.
